Magnificently friendly service. The lady here was just so lovely cheery and helpful. We were on the road and famished and we just wanted a quick snack. The lady made us a very nice chicken and salad roll despite it being after 3pm, and my wife also grabbed a Portuguese tart to go. We also had a coffee each. The food and coffee were both great and were much appreciated.

Nice fresh food, chunky steak pie and the caramel custard eclair I had were very good and tasty, there is plenty of good choices including salad rolls and sandwiches and a choice of drinks. Prices are good. When I visit Merimbula I always make sure to drop in and grab some lunch, the staff are friendly and welcoming too which is great.

Josh – After exploring the town I saw a man with a pie and that got me feeling like one, so after a short search in Merimbula we found the Bakehouse. A cute little shop with the most lovely and polite lady who served us. I got a plain pie ( nothing beats it ) and a caramel hedgehog which was also really good in the afternoon as a treat.

Love this bakery, bread is the best in town by a country mile. Staff are knowledgeable friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit if you can find them as they are not on the main street!

This place is great. It has the best coffee at the best price in town. I’ve only had the sourdough, but as a sample it was great (not as tart as I like, but super flavorful, and welcomes a layer of butter, but doesn’t need it).

Have tried the various bakeries available in the area & surrounds but keep coming back to Backstreet Bakehouse. Extremely friendly staff & bread that is just beautifully baked, try the baguettes for lunch & take a sour dough rye home for breakfast toast you won’t be disappointed. Lovely cakes as well!
