We were so full after the Onam Sadhya, it was hard to move. Excellent food. As authentic as Kerala food gets in Melbourne. There were something like 20 dishes on the buffet and they were all outstanding. Completely worth the drive from metro Melbourne. We got greedy and got extras like fried fish on top of everything and it was delish. The decor is kitschy but cute, a riot of colours that is aptly representative of Kerala. We intend to be back with our pup next time as it’s a dog-friendly restaurant (major points for this, rare for an Indian restaurant), to sample the rest of the menu. Makes for a great weekend day out.

As soon as I stepped into Babaji’s, took in the gorgeous fit out and wafting incense, I knew I didn’t want to be anywhere else.

It was a great experience at the Babaji Kitchen. We were a big group, including a few children. Food was enjoyed by most of us except kids. It was probably a new experience for them. We wish we had more flexibility for the kids’ menu.

Had the best onam sadhya experience at Babajis kitchen. All the dishes were authentically delicious. Kudos to the entire crew who made sure we experience the same level of hospitality as we would back home. Lovely ambience, music and food!! Thank you so much Babajis team for bringing a piece of home to us. Will definitely return.

Such a vibrant oasis in the Hills. Warm and friendly from the moment you spy the bright facade – the flavours and service did not disappoint. Already planning return visits (yes, plural) to make our way through the menu!

Restaurant is a bit small but well designed, had good food, good service and food choices. Online reservation is better considering the popularity of the restaurant during peak period.

The restaurant has a nice ambiance and is busy on weekends, so booking ahead is smart for larger groups. The food was average, slightly salty in some cases, the thali dishes were good. The Kerala porotta was disappointing, and quite different from the authentic version. Our visit was well ahead of Onam – might try Onam Sadya next time.
