Food usually good. Had the rare occassion it wasn’t. Normally prompt . I pre order by phone. About 10 to 20 minutes wait period when busy. Have the occasional hick up with the order but usually sort it fairly well. I go back not that I do a lot of take out but have found them to be better than most. Some leave you wondering what you have been served. I ordered a steak sandwich from one place said what I wanted on it got home had to toast the bread and all I had was meat with so much gristle and a few lettuce leaves. Not a good look for return visits and these places wonder why they go out of business. I’m happy with the service and staff here.

Ordered a Chicken Parma and it was the most tasteless thing I have ever eaten, crumbing was soggy, the sauce had ZERO flavour and the chips resembled ones that had come from the day before and were microwaved. I also had a banana fritter and it was nearly burnt on the outside and still frozen and soggy in the middle. Don’t think I will go back to be honest. Staff were good though.

The chicken was fully cooked, but only just. I’m one who likes to nibble the bones and there’s no joy in that unless the bones get a decent cook. The Fish and Chips were workmanlike but for a premium price, I expected better.

Visited for takeaway while in Mount Barker visiting a friend and this is no kidding the best takeaway place I’ve visited on agesssss. I am a chip CRITIC. I love and desperately seek out a perfectly cooked hot chip, but they are hard to find. Hillbilly chicken nailed it absolutely perfect chippies. Next up, the deep fried chocolate bar- not easy to find at a chip shop, they aren’t common these days. So not only do you have a deep friend mars bar option at Hillbilly Chicken, but Snickers too! Sampled both, both great. The batter was more like a doughnut dough vs batter you batter chips in. So delicious and coated with cinnamon sugar. I’m so sad I don’t live in My Barker

Usually have really good standard food from here. However, they’ve changed the chips since we last went and you can tell that the quality is nowhere near to what they used to be. Quite soggy and tasted like they’d been reheated. It would put me off from ordering from there again tbh.

Extremely rude, arrogant young man on the counter, who very aggressively spoke to my 5 year old granddaughter for tapping on the fish tank. One:, she’s 5 and can’t read, two: if she’s doing something wrong address me not her, three: you have no idea what someone may have experienced and the trauma response you trigger with your harsh words. It cost’s nothing to be kind. Your staff should learn the 3 ps of customer service, professionalism, patience, and a “people-first” attitude. Needless to say I will never spend one dime in this shop.n
