1861 is pretty near Broome Historical Museum. This restaurant is to be recommended for nicely cooked barramundi, seafood and steaks.

Great restaurant by the pool side with nice food and ambience. Food portions have improved since especially for the fish of the day. Refreshment drinks are also free flow.

Dined here this week and was very impressed with the seafood. Beautifully cooked and presented. Chips were deliciously crunchy, barramundi cooked with a crispy skin served with a delicately dressed salad.

I won’t claim it’s the worst hotel buffet breakfast I’ve ever had but it’s definitely in the top 10. Today, the cook’s repertoire included watery scrambled eggs, chewy bacon, mushy mushrooms and reheated pastries. The two front of house staff are so slow it’s like watching turtles swim through quicksand. I observed as different customers asked for an espresso-based drink (extra charge) and the staff member, who clearly wasn’t interested in making it for them, actively discouraged them from proceeding with their order by walking them to the pot of filter coffee.

Pretty expensive but all meals we’ve had so far have been amazing, must be new management because these bad reviews are not justified in my eyes 6 months later! Very very tasty and hasn’t dissapointed!!

Second rate food at high prices for dinner. Nothing was fresh. And easily one of the worst hotel breakfast’s again at a high price. Diner’s beware.
