Dropped in for takeaway on a busy Friday afternoon and didn’t have to wait more than 20 minutes. My housemate said the food was good. I only had spring rolls but they were good and the fried rice looked and smelled right. Have been a bit disappointed with some other lower mountains takeaways so I was happy to try Springwood Gardens again. Note, they are not a budget option by any means but if you can afford it, go there

Excellent friendly service. Leafy outlook. We had the Chantong chicken which was really delicious. All the food was very good.

This is not a bad place to eat. At least I don’t think it is. This was my first visit to this eatery. The restaurant is tucked away in a small plaza and has a pleasant enough interior that affords a view of some of the bushland on the adjacent street. The food when served was hot and seemingly fresh and the taste was fairly good. Unfortunately, my main reasons for a 3-star rating were that like most restaurants and retail businesses in Sydney, customer/patron service is non-existent. We ordered two simple mains, combination Chow Mein. No entrees, no drinks and when we arrived the place was moderately busy as there were two large groups. So we surmised that since the first group was already in-house as we came in and the others came in about the same time but ordered before us, that we might have to wait a bit longer. Longer…..longer…..longer…waiting…waiting…waiting. The entire first and second group had been served and we had no food. A couple that came in AFTER us was served their food and were nearly done by the time we were served our food! How does THAT work??!! When it FINALLY arrived, I thought an apology or explanation might have been in order….(nothing) We had to actually stare down our waitress from across the room, before she actually acknowledged us. A look of seemingly panic fell across her, and she dashed back into the kitchen, I assume, to speak to the cook about our meals. These circumstances do not inspire me to return to this place, especially knowing you there are so many other nicer places in the mountains I could go to get really extraordinary food and better service.

The best Vietnamese I have had since I was in Vietnam. Menu was quite varied and exceptionally priced. Will have to try the banquet next time.
