Excellent service and unlike many other places in Albury they’re prepared to take customers at almost any time and don’t add a holiday surcharge. The banquet and the teppanyaki are amazing value. You know I have no idea when it comes to Japanese food so apologise up front for what will be a review from someone who is not an expert with this style of food – but what I can tell you is what a cracker time we had when we went here. We went earlier this year with my children and their grandparents and we had the Tepanyaki. Throwing eggs, catching food and a whole lot of laughs ensured a great evening. Not everyone liked all of the food – but it was a great experience. Staff were excellent and engaging. Restaurant was clean and comfortable. A lot of fun was had by all. Soz I couldn’t critique the food any more cleverly. A little on the expensive side – but worth it for the fun we all had. I have an update and now want to review the standard menu. I surprised my partner and took him here for Valentine’s Day. It was appalling food. Very bad. The service was fabulous and gesture of a red rose for each couple was thoughtful but couldn’t compensate for terrible food. Very noisy if you have someone who is hard of hearing.

Food was ok. Not really Japanese taste. Not sure whether customer comment of saltiness caused the cook to hold back on salt or soy sauce but our sauce was really watered down for Ebi fry bento meal we requested. Miso was good. Gyoza passable, sushi was a bit disappointing.

Very salty, lacked depth of flavour… At least they’re enthusiastic. They don’t take a repeated no (to catching things in your hands, bowl or mouth) though, so if you have issues with consent then don’t sit at the grill.

This was a really awesome place to dine! We got teppanyaki, and it was really awesome. Although some of the foods that were cooked weren’t things I’d ordinarily choose, it was a great opportunity to try new things. One thing to note is that if you’re planning on having teppanyaki is that you don’t want to be wearing your best clothes – don’t make the same mistake I did.

We thoroughly enjoyed Teppanyaki at Zen X, our group of 10 were entertained by talented chefs and friendly, accommodating staff. Our experience was fantastic, with delicious food and plenty of laughs. I would highly recommend anyone to book a table, a great night out for the whole family.

We had the teppanyaki here for my sons 2nd birthday dinner and it was amazing! He loved the food and we were all entertained by the chef! They even gave my son a free fried icecream for dessert with a sparkler and a birthday message. He had the best time!
