I’ve been here a few times now and I’ve been very impressed with the food each visit. It is very well presented, fresh, and most importantly extremely tasty. The serving staff are quite friendly and very attentive. I highly recommend visiting if you are craving Japanese food, or even just a satisfying meal. I will be visiting again!

Having been living in different cities in Australia, I could confidently say Yamashita is one of the best Japanese restaurants. Every dishes is well developed with the balance of taste and presentation. If you are a real foodie, you would know a miso soup in a Japanese restaurant will tell you who they are. Every time when I visit Hobart I must try Yamashita.

Lovely experience. We were welcomed by their bot. Food was lovely. There was a mixup with my order, I ordered Mushroom Tempura but was served Mixed Tempura, still a great experience though. Recommend!

It is one of the fanciest restaurants in Hobart. Compared to other Japanese restaurants in Hobart, it is really nice and good environment. The food is good but a bit expensive. It’s really good for special occasions. Also they have a bar place where you can just enjoy alcohol if you want. I recommend to someone if they want to go for a date or for some special occasions.

Your standard Japanese fix on a cold cold day. The food generally on the salty side – will be lovely if they cut it down on that. Other than that we had a hearty meal on a cold day! Love it!

Enjoyed our last night in Hobart at this Japanese restaurant. We had the edamame, pork gyoza, salmon sashimi and mixed seafood nigiri. All very tasty and well presented. Staff were generally nice and food came out relatively quickly. My only negative was the edamame was a bit under-seasoned.
