A Japanese Izakaya located in North Adelaide. It feels like a chilled Japanese bbq skewers Eatery and bar. The food is ok. I would say very average, which I have no problem with. The price here is about $100 per person with a few skewers and drinks. We ordered 2 rounds, after the first round. We found that the dishes’ sizes are very small, and some of them were also a bit dry. Therefore we have to order another round of food and drinks. However, it still seems not enough. We may order more. But, we did not bother to order more, as the food is not worth another wait. This place is clearly overpriced. We have no problem with the price, we do not mind if it is even more, as long as the food and experience are worth. To be fair, there is nothing wrong with this place. The only thing is the mismatch between their price and what they can deliver. The rating is for this strong mismatch. It is not just about 25 to 50% overpriced. In our experience there, it feels like at least 100% overpriced for the food and environment.

Absolutely enjoyed the simplicity of the fresh ingredients, grilled and light seasoning – can’t quite pin point what the mixed was ( salt, pepper and ??) but just had a touch of lightness overall were delicious. Tofu, squid, pork belly, smoked duck (would love to give it a lighting quick grill a go to enhance the favour instead), checken wing was so perfect. Can’t help to try the desert, but I was overly full to finish it off – very rich chocolate lava cake yet not overly sweet.

My first dining experience with Takumi Yakitori was superb! I love love love Japanese food so this year I decided to try Takumi on my birthday. We did not make a reservation so we turned up at 6pm when it was just opened. Staff were so friendly, they knew it was our first time here hence they gave us an introduction on everything. The price might be a little high for skewers but I think it was worth it. You can tell they have put so much effort maintaining the quality of the food and they do care about their customers. This place is best to visit with a bunch of good friends so I’m already thinking of bringing my friends over in the future:) Perhaps it’s better to make a reservation in advance. VERY GOOD! Very first time I ordered food without paying attention to my bill! SOOOOOOO delicious and authentic. Perfect for a date and friends gathering. Definitely be back soon. Though the portion of the food may seems small for the majority , I’m very happy to spend my money here. Staffs are nice, good sakes, beers and atmosphere. (I am a big fan of Japanese food)
