My partner and I recently had the pleasure of hosting our baby shower at Wharf One, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From the moment we decided to book their venue space to the very end of the event, everything was flawless and actioned really quickly.

Our group had the farewell dinner there after sunset outside. The atmosphere was fantastic with the illumination, the ferris wheel and the reflections in the harbour. The food was good. The only downside was a fairly lengthy delay in serving the dessert.

This was a lovely restaurant, food was great (Maryland Chicken and fries on side) and the service was spot on, attentive and friendly but not too pushy. Really nice location and vibe at night as well.

We shared the Charcuterie Board and Beef Carpaccio as a light lunch on a hot day (July 2022) accompanied by a bottle of wine. The food was fantastic; the beef carpaccio just melted in your mouth.

I was with my mum, who wanted dessert. We saw the dessert menu out front, decided on an option, and asked if we could be seated for drinks and dessert only. (The restaurant was not full.) The waitperson looked very unsure, but checked and confirmed this was okay. On trying to order the dessert, it turned out that our choice was not available, and the menus had not been updated to reflect this. Had a second choice – was okay. Drinks came out quickly. Lovely location and would have had a second drink, but unable to attract anyone’s attention. The waitstaff were busy, perhaps they were understaffed. We left after the one drink. Good atmosphere, but not cheap and service is not fast.

The entrees (beef carpaccio and croquettes) were amazing but the mains were pretty awful. Squid ink pasta (fresh pasta didn’t seem fresh) and $40 duck breast (skin wasn’t rendered properly) with dried potatoes and a corn cob!?!?was not worth the money. We asked them to be done again. Basically, when you’re charged this kind of price, you expect a great plate of food but we didn’t get that at this restaurant unfortunately. However the staff member who looked after our complaints was very responsive and we were very appreciative. The professionslism of the Chef is clearly below that of the waiting staff, which makes it difficult for them. Also what’s really disappointing is they do not have a toilet onsite!! This is not acceptable for a (fine dining) restaurant. As there are numbers of very competitive restaurants nearby, I’d rather go there than come back here.

This restaurant is fabulous. I loved the views, the ambience, the wine and of course the food. I think the price tag may have been up there but nothing was too expensive. You don’t mind paying a couple of dollars more for your meal as long as its presented in an innovative modern way and tastes delicious. As it did. Oh and that brûlée expresso martini dessert made the experience even better.

We were staying at a hotel on the waterfront and had scouted out Wharf One when walking around the waterfront. The views are spectacular and the testing menu looked appealing. We were at the end of the season and some of the staff were backpackers preparing to move on, so the service was a bit so-so, we had to ask for more water, I had to signal for more attention at our table (clear plates after we had been finished for half an hour, more water, more beers – empty for 20 minutes, dessert menu etc) It wasn’t bad per se, but it took away from what was otherwise an excellent experience. I highly recommend the tasting menu, it is fantastic with enough that there is no way you will walk away less than full!. The quality of the seafood was remarked upon several times by my wife. The location is fantastic and the views spectacular. I’ve included day pictures so you have an idea of what you are looking towards at night.
