Been here multiple times. The food is really good and traditional. Duck is amazing, noodles are fantastic, really nice beef and good quality – not the fakeish cheap beef in some restaurants, the seafood is lovely and always fresh. Everytime staff have been so friendly and wonderful. Last time one lady was so rude and horrible, very disappointing. Changed my experience completely. 5 stars for everything if it wasn’t for her rude attitude and demeanour.

Always always ask for the price before you order from the A La cart menu. Don’t make mistake of ordering like we did. Seasonal stir fry vegetable w/ oyster sauce cost like 26 dollars, that’s expensive! I didn’t even took photo of the vegetable dish as it was not that great. Overall, the food was ok. This restaurant is famous for morning yumcha

It has been 20+ years since we have been here. Still the best in Melbourne.

The food quality has dropped over the years. Very unfortunate as we’ve been coming to this restaurant since the 90’s…

This is a Melbourne institution!!! Westlake has been serving up classic Chinese dishes for decades. The owner-chef still works everyday and is always there to make sure the dishes go out good. Every dish we had could not be faulted. Delicious and fresh. Their Signature Chicken was very very good!

Great yum cha place, we did not have a booking so we just put our name on the list and waited for a short wait outside. Yum cha was great, the food was delicious – the trolleys rotated a lot of freshly cooked food. Our meal totalled $220 for 3 people

I really wanted to love the place but it has to be the slowest yum cha place I’ve been to. We got 4 things overall in the span of 25 mins and had to cancel our steam bun order as we needed to catch a plane. We paid AUD $58 for 3 people. We got there at 1:20 pm and left at 1:55 pm. The reason we wanted to have yum cha was because the service is was meant to be quick, sadly, our experience just wasn’t the best. The variety of food is disappointing. Frankly, not worth it.

Best dim sum in Melbourne… And I’ve been to a lot of them. Very reasonably priced and great service. Har gao and siu mai are very special. My family and I have been coming here for 30 years!
