Four of us came to Waza Japanese Restaurant on a Saturday evening for dinner. It was very quiet and we were the only patrons, other than a few delivery drivers who came in every now and then to pick up orders. I ordered the sukiyaki beef Udon and a mango-flavoured mogu mogu drink. The food was served quickly and was very delicious. I love this little restaurant, and I think it deserves 5 stars because I have no complaints. Quick service, tasty food and efficient customer service. Thank you Waza!

Authentic Japanese Restaurant in Clayton serving many varieties of food. The sushi and sashimi always fresh. The Udon has nice tasty broth. But looks like there is only one person doing all rounder (cashier, serving, cooking, cleaning the table etc). So when it’s many customers, the waiting time might be long. But he is very fast and efficient.

It’s a Japanese restaurant a quick walk from Clayton station. The restaurant was quiet when I went in. The interior is nice. The Karaage Ramen here was okay, but the broth lacked the depth in the city and reminded me of Nissin’s instant Tonkotsu packs.

First time here. A nice little Japanese restaurant in Clayton. We ordered plenty, sushi platter, udons, curry. Food in general has good taste and reasonable presentation. Just feel they are really under staff which reflected in the service. The only man in the front did his best. Pricey, expect to spend over $30 per head.

I ordered the beef sukiyaki teishoku which just means a set meal. It included a spring roll, edamame, mash and a salad for an additional $3. This brought the total to $16.80 which is pretty affordable.

Love their umeshu! The salmon nigiri was also nice too their tonkontsu ramen soup is great. I would give more stars if they didn’t put the egg noodles in the ramen though. Also the place was kinda understaffed. It was only one guy running back and forth on Saturday night.

This is my first negative review ever… so actually feeling sad leaving the feedback.. but I have been sick with upset tummy for 3rd day now after dining at this place and I’m puzzled about the 4.2 star overall rating… the food IS NOT fresh!!! It arrived literally 5 minutes after we placed the order. The chicken was dry, no flavor and tasted microwaved. We heard microwave beeping throughout the service. The salmon sushi… have the rice been formed by a toddler??? Never seen anything like this before…. My dish was also supposed to be gluten free – sadly it wasn’t and I felt sick afterwards. Don’t serve gluten free dishes which are contaminated with gluten. Don’t serve old food which makes people sick!!!! It looks like you may be wanting to cut corners and serve the food quickly, but do not compromise on food freshness and safety!!!! Waste of money, waste of health and overall a disappointing experience – especially here in Melb with such an abundance of great food. Food safety should be your number one priority!
