Great hidden gem in Yokine. We have walked past here a few times & never tired here. But we wish we tried this place earlier. The food was yummy & the best. The staff are lovely & great atmosphere.

The food is very tasty and good value for money. They do takeaways specials as well for mains from $8 and up as well as handrolls specials. Quaint little place just outside the shopping centre. Must try the katsu don with egg toppings. Service to clear the tables can be faster but no fault as it’s mostly done by 1 staff.

Sadly, this place failed to impress. Granted the food was edible and what you’d expect of cheap and cheerful Japanese dishes. However, the cheap came with no cheerfulness. Don’t come here to expect warm service. Expect a short “no” to questions you may have. No explanation what so ever. I’m a reasonable customer if you just say why you couldn’t sell a dish you listed on the menu ie you’ve ran out of an ingredient, I would’ve been happy to make alternative choices or plans.

If you are going to advertise you close at 7.3pm on a Friday then the general rule is you take orders until then. Don’t stop taking phone calls at 7pm so you can pack up and leave by 7.30pm. All the advertised times on your website are all wrong as you don’t stay open that late. When I drove down to ask why you aren’t taking phone orders before close time the 2 woman at the counter didn’t care less and were smirking the whole conversation. When I asked where the manager was they said not here and didn’t care less about why I was complaining. This business is clearly a daytime sushi place. Don’t bother calling for a dinner order. I will take my business elsewhere. You can only go so far on food quality alone. Thanks Toki Sushi you actually did me a favour as the chicken curry Katsu Udon was better at Osaki Sushi and the service perfect.

Disappointing! Ordered two bento boxes via Uber Eats. My chicken teriyaki consisted of some chewy chicken pieces with what seemed like rolled up balls of chicken skin, topped with an overly sweet sauce. Not only that, but I also found a sharp bone in one of them. It came with a soggy spring roll and other deep-fried vegetables? onions? I couldn’t tell. As if that wasn’t enough, there was a grey hair on one of the sushi rolls (filled with a salty tuna paste) in my partner’s bento box. The only thing that tasted alright was the miso soup. Won’t order again from there. It seems like they’re using the cheapest ingredients possible.

The first time I ordered from Toku Sushi it was awesome. Ordered off Uber Eats and my food arrived timely and it was awesome- worth the money. So I thought I’d get it again today, ordered the same dish from Uber Eats with priority delivery. Delivery for priority was estimated between 15-25mins from time of processing the purchase until delivery. So I paid extra for priority, only to be waiting for an hour until my food actually arrived. I’m not sure if Toku Sushi was busy at the time, but if so they should make customers aware of this or make priority service unavailable as I’ve just paid extra to wait as long as it would have taken with standard delivery; and my food was stone cold when it arrived. The driver themselves found the place easily which was refreshing. Probably won’t buy from Toku Sushi again, this time around it wasn’t worth the money unfortunately.
