The variety of food selection was fantastic. Had the Rib Eye cooked medium/rare and salad with a mushroom sauce. Top notch. The rest of the patrons in our party loved their selection. Plenty of food hitting above the pub grade quality.

The Prince of Merewether is a true delight and a real surprise. Driving past you’d be forgiven for assuming it’s like any regular pub – with regular pub patrons and regular pub fare. However, it’s actually an astonishingly good restaurant with a variety of different seating areas – including a pleasant upstairs balcony. The service and staff are wonderful, and it has a friendly and buzzing atmosphere at night too.

Food is OK, but very expensive for what is basically a pub meal. The steak is an eye watering $46. I had the Moroccan sheesh, which was a hodgepodge dish with cold chickpeas, nice chicken and Lebanese bread. I’ve had the $23 burgers here before, which are fine, but again, $23 for a burger? C’mon… biggest gripe is that after 6:30 they play live music and you just cannot have any conversation unless you’re yelling.

The staff are very attentive and really do a great job. The calamari is delicious. We both had perfectly cooked steaks, the meals are consistently on point ! 10/10

Had the best time celebrating my 30th birthday party here, the food was beautiful, the staff were friendly and kind and so accommodating to all my plans. Thank you to Olivia for all her help bringing my dream 30th party to life. And the Liz on the day for helping with food and drinks. Honestly cannot fault these guys at all, this is a must visit for anyone coming to Newcastle or planing a function/party in Newcastle.

Always great food, they have coeliac safe chicken salt (ish- not sure what the seasoning is but they are delicious), separate fryer! Also have a few gluten free beers (two bays) and one of the only gf pizza bases I trust (never been cross contaminated )

Hubby and I did lunch there. We share a garlic flat bread and a wood fired pizza. It was sooo good, definitely want to return.
