This restaurant was highly recommended by our tour guide. However, I think it was not for such any kind of commission related thing.

I love eating at pubs and this pub met the same expectations. Friendly services by smiling waiters and waitresses, big food proportions and prices that are reasonable. We came in a group of six – four adults and two kids. We ordered:

I went here for the first time in May as a surprise for my birthday. I have since returned twice and never been disappointed. Took my father and partner here for Father’s Day and they too, found it fantastic. Fast friendly service, gorgeous interior, delicious food at reasonable prices. I will be back (again!) 🙂

The worst Sunday Roast we ever had. This is the second time we had dinner at the Old Bank Hotel. We ordered the Sunday Roast special which seemed unusual especially as it included because lamb, chicken (stuffed) and pork belly and no beef but we tried any way. Instead of roasted and sliced all the meet was re-fried on the bone with a lot of fat. Vegetables were minimal and were combined with gravy looked like it came from a box from the supermarket.

Agree with all the other comments. The service is kind and super fast. It seems the chef’s are really experienced and get things done very well. Nice local Katoomba beer as well, close to the train station and the shops. And the interior is like a travel through time. Really recommend if you are looking for pub food in the area. The schnitzel is great and portion sizes are big enough even for sharing.

I ate here on a Wednesday evening 7pm with my family. Cute venue, plenty of charm and clean. There were approximately 40 patrons. We were travelling through and we were all eating light.

Just popped in for quick bite to eat and had a warm mulberry wine to warm us up. Lunch was nice. We then walked all the way to the three sisters bus but ended up getting the bus back as it was exhausting walk. We made it back to The Old City Bank for a couple of beers to relax. To the staff at this hotel thank you and I would recommend go here.

I ordered the slow cooked beef pie which I was so looking forward to. The beef was not tender at all. It had many large pieces of gristle and a few pieces of tough meat. I don’t mind paying for food but I expect to get what I paid for and what was promised in the menu. Maybe a little more care is needed in the choice of meat & in the cooking process.
