Established in 2001, The Cardamom Pod remains the mainstay of Vegetarian cuisine in the Byron Shire, not only providing an array of delicious savory dishes that include vegan and gluten free options there is also fresh salads and unique egg free cheesecakes,sweet sagos and delicious raw tarts for your dining pleasure. Everything that is prepared is done so with the purest of consciousness, an ideal in food preparation where the food is cooked and then offered with devotion. Our aim is to satisfy your taste buds,satiate your appetite and feed your soul. We look forward to being able to serve you soon at the Cardamom Pod. Cheap, tasty, and wholesome! I recently ate here on a day trip to Byron and I was so happy with the meal! The young girl who served us was so cheerful and made the whole experience so pleasant. There was a bit of a line because it was right around lunch time but it was well worth the wait for the delicious food. The samosa was amazing (and so cheap) and we loved the dessert selection too. Thank you for a wonderful lunch experience, will 100% be returning every time we come through byron!

They Have amazing Ayurvedic food and salads. They always are so good!! 100% recommended. Healthy yum reasonable price food in byron. Curries are delicious, my partner favorite is the Lasagna and mine the Moussaka. Definitely a must try.

After a good experience at The Cardamom Pod earlier this week where I had a small container of lasagne for $9.50 + extra rice for $2.30 all in the same container for a total of $11.80, all as it was priced on the board, I decided to return today for exactly the same. I clearly requested a small container of lasagne with extra rice. I was served by a young female member of staff with dark hair and glasses(mentioned in another recent review) who filled the small container with lasagne then filled another container with rice, I thought it was a bit strange but thought maybe she’s just being generous……however, she asked for $16! I politely mentioned this and pointed to the board where it stated $9.50 for a small container and she said it’s classified as a bake which was $11. That wasn’t clear advertising but I accepted, but that would make the total price $13.30 with the extra rice for $2.30, not $16! As i was very hungry, I didn’t realise the second discrepancy with the rice until I returned to work. She also didn’t apologise, made an arrogant facial expression, rolled her eyes and didn’t offer me a receipt to prove the cost…..very convenient. The food quality is good and it is very cheap, however, I have a zero tolerance approach to being screwed over financially, no matter how small and regardless of whether it was intentional or accidental. I won’t be returning.

Dhal was cold and portion sizes were tiny. The food was good but new owners have changed things and it’s not for the better. Cardamon has been an institution with the locals in Byron for a long time. I would be sad to see it slide out of existence but it needs to lift its game really fast other wise I am worried about it’s future.
