Love this place for lunch on the run. So convenient. Staff are lovely and the food quality is consistent. No matter how packed it is, they never have you waiting too long. I’m so pleased to have a local sushi joint like this one.

Well priced, fresh food, quick to order – maybe 8 minutes for the big feast we had – and friendly service. Between two people for $40 we had pork gyoza, chicken teriyaki rolls, tuna rolls, croquettes, gyoza, aburi marbled beef, salmon, cream cheese and avocado rolls and a karaage chicken donburi. At $20 a head, we couldn’t fault it. Outstanding, keep up the good work guys.

The teryaki chicken and teryaki beef was terrible. We barely ate any of the meals, the little we did have gave us food poisoning. My husband wasn’t too bad but it really knocked me around which is the last thing I need 21 weeks pregnant on holiday

I love this place. Great food, no fuss. Staff is very kind. Highly recommend the lunch bento — it was the biggest I’ve ever seen — my partner and I can split one bento, plus a few orders of nigiri, and I feel like I want someone to roll us all the way back home. Definitely a local’s place — I come down on my lunch break, and it’s easy to get to, but far enough from the water that you’re not paying beachfront prices. I always eat in, but they seem to do a lot of takeaway business as well. They have a sushi train setup, but I’ve never seen it running, maybe due to COVID or because I’ve never been in at dinner, only lunch. I don’t mind that at all, as I’d rather eat it fresh anyways. Service is very fast, too. If you’re still reading this, just go!

Sushi raft is an ok sushi restaurant by Australian standards. I came for lunch on Saturday. The prices are ok ($3.90 for most plates and not $3.50 a plate mentioned in a review a year ago) and I enjoyed eating the items I ordered. The sushi train was not running. Fresh tuna was on the menu but none was in stock when I visited (lots of tinned tuna which isn’t really proper sushi at all). I had to ask twice for tap water but the single waitress was run off her feet. There is no screen or app to send orders. If I lived in the local area, I probably would return as there probably aren’t many better options nearby. If you want a better sushi experience in Cairns for a similar price, I would recommend North Cairns Sushi Train instead.

Great place! It’s super cheap for some great quality food, and it’s great for lunch and dinner!

Fantastic food and service. Good range of sushi on the train itself but there is a large menu that you can order anytime from, all $3.50 a plate. The marbled beef sushi was awesome.

Good sushi and soups. Ignore the fact that the train has no plates on it – its all to order so while it might look like they are closing up, they are not.
