Up in Brisbane for work and this was the only restaurant on Howard Smith Wharf I hadn’t been to, definitely saved the best for last. Came for dinner Saturday 9th night for a $112 banquet and the Thursday before for a quick lunch.

Everything about Stanley Restaurant was amazing. The banquet menu with all of the lovely flavours was amazing. The service was brilliant. The wine and cocktail list was extensive. And the location and views are amazing.

What a fantastic experience! Exceeded the expectations. The service was always helpful and welcoming. Even when we reached our two hour seating time, we were not shoved out but graciously moved to a searing area with an amazing view and service did not stop!

Lunch at Stanley was a great experience… lovely food and extensive wine list. The Express Lunch menu (3 course) was such great value… coupled with excellent and attentive service from Imogen. Thanks for making our anniversary special. We’ll definitely be back! *The dumplings in broth, and Special Fried Rice are exceptional, but everything was so tasty.

I get the fine dining concept of chinese/cantonese cuisine but, it is really at a high price point. Although, all the dishes were cooked perfectly, the serving couldn’t justify the price point. Service was okay and location is amazing.

Excellent spot under the Story bridge. We had the 3 course express lunch plus the fried rice. We found the first 2 courses to be tasty but undersized. 3rd course made up the difference with a large portion size.

Stanley got a mention on MasterChef so we decided to try it out! Some dishes were great, others were quite ordinary. The kingfish was beautifully fresh, the balance of salty, sweet, and tangy was fantastic. The salt and pepper squid was cooked perfectly, though a bit under seasoned. The spicy beef hor fun wasn’t spicy at all, which was a shame, and too saucy… Which resembled more like pad see ew than the transitional Cantonese dish. The sweet and sour pork – flavour was all there, I wish there was a bit more crunch to the pork tho!

We had dinner for our daughters 18th birthday on 9th September, the service and atmosphere was great however the food which they call is fine dining can be bought for 50% less price and same or better tasting, they gave us chicken(honey) pork in sauce duck (couldn’t find any meat) in spaghetti white rice (not cooked properly) and starters were calamari and cucumber salad plus bits of fish(uncooked) the charge was $72 per person, then we ordered the beverages which was very pricey, however I was happy that our daughters friends and we had a great time regardless of the shortcomings of the fool, but wait when i received the bill they added a service charge of unexplained $60 which was not part of the deal, when you call the restaurant to speak about this, they do not answer their phone. I gladly paid $916 but the additional charge of $60 unjustified and not discussed and or agreed upon! Atmosphere alone doesn’t give the exclusive right of a restaurant to charge exorbitant amount for food and drinks which are sub standard !
