Shige Restaurant is beautiful. Small joint run by a Japanese family with attentive service and charming chef. Chef Shige’s sushi and sashimi platters is the holy grail, made by great skill honoring the ways of how it is done back in Japan. The carefully selected fish by itself or with the sushi rice results in the delicious dispersion of the combined flavours in the mouth. The menu is authentically varied and is built upon for a sharing experience or even for single diners. The selection of Agedashi, Chawanmushi and Seaweed Salad as a starter before moving onto the Sushi or Sashimi Platter along with the Tonkatsu Cutlet is a good guide of mine but Chef Shige and family are always there for the better recommendation that fits your appetite on the night. A purely authentic Japanese experience unlike any others in Perth.

Absolutely rude , worst service iv ever had in my life . The owner, older Asian lady, rudely says no booked out and walks away, then when I called her back asked for takeaway she says no busy. And walked off , worst service ever . The Restraunt was half empty mind you, 7pm at night , I will never give them another try. Do not give these people your money.

My husband and I came to this restaurant tonight as it was located near our hotel. We are from Melbourne and are used to going to Japanese restaurants. The food was wonderful, especially the fish dish. The place is very clean, the lady was very courteous and lovely. The same goes for the chef, he came to our table and enquire as whether we had enjoyed our food. You can see they care about their clients. I would highly recommend this place, they deserve to be recommended.
