Food was beautiful, and well sized portions, and the coffee was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent breaky bun! First time I’ve seen two eggs in one and the hash brown was crispy. Can’t fault it. Coffee and service good. Watching a steam train pull in whilst eating was a bonus

This cafe is a good place to have lunch at and if you catch the steam train you can reserve to have lunch there by booking the club cart. I got the salad of the day which was huge but really nice. The club cart gives you snacks as well which is also nice.

It can get busy at the Rusty Rails if the train is in, but it is special to see the old engin fire up tooting after every one has borded. Twice I’ve had the date scone with fresh jam and cream on the platform and I will be glad to do it again. Its a great Gympie historical operating train station so enjoy the food and experience.

rusty rails cafe is an absolute joke. pre-booked table to bring clients to gympie for horse sale, arrived saturday morning only to be told that they are not cooking any meals at all that day. clients were less than impressed. service has always been a bit off but this is the last straw. never again

Due to the train arriving we were not able to have lunch (slightly disappointing as we didn’t know this prior) but we were allowed to have coffee/chose from the cabinet food. We decided to stay and wait for the steam train to pull in from its trip (must do if you have children), friendly staff and decent coffee for Gympie.
