Me and my wife went for a drive up to Camden. We decided to go to the Royal for lunch. The hotel was great with friendly staff. We had the salt and pepper calamari for entree. I had the beef burger, and my wife had the fish. The dishes were awesome with a generous serving. I always say that the bun makes or breaks a burger. Well, the beef burger was fantastic. My wife enjoyed her fish, and so did I . We will definitely go back again for lunch or dinner..

Hello. The restaurant ambience was nice. The food tasty. I would suggest a few things though. My husband likes his meat medium to well done. However, since he purchased the lamb, I was told it is served a certain way so they didn’t need to know how he liked it cooked. It wasn’t cooked enough for him. Also when garlic bread is ordered, it would be nice to be given plates. We used serviettes because it was hot… and delicious.

First time we’ve been in the Royal for a while. The food was mainly very good but the steak was a little dry. Prices are high but that’s Camden these days. Staff are very friendly and approachable. All in all it was an enjoyable night and we would recommend you make a visit.

After the recent renovations, the place looks beautiful. However, although the newly placed carpet is meant to limit how much noise bounces off the old flooring, it is still pretty loud inside the dining area, especially when there is large groups.

We had to wait 45min to get our simple orders. All the cleaned tables had a Reseve sign on it. We had to ask the waitresses a few times to get our table cleaned. And the burger had lots of unchewab meat in it. Not worth for the money. If they get busy I think they shouldn’t get more customers than they can afford.
