My visit to Rocksalt was great. The staff were friendly, the restaurant felt cosy and had enough space between tables to give the impression you had some privacy. The Pork Belly I had was cooked to perfection. The crackling crunched and the meat underneath it hadn’t dried out, and everything retained its flavour . The mash that accompanied the pork was smooth and went well with the gravy that came with the dish. The veg did its job too.

Meals are always consistently very good quality. Mains menu seems to change seasonally/yearly? Personal favourites were the prawn fettuccine and the pesto gnocchi.

I was a little disappointed with this place, heard lots about it from friends who have been here…it wasn’t terrible at all, rather just not meeting the hype. The menu selection was ok…compared to the Gladstone Yacht club it was pretty boring! Dessert was amazing though. I would most likely come back again when I am in town. Give it another go.

I got the MSA steak which came with veges and pork spare ribs and I got chips and aioli and it was the BEST meal I’ve had in my life!!! Steak was amazing veges were AMAZING chips and spare ribs were AMAZING!!! WELL DONE 10/10

Big hype about what? Beef cheeks where ok, dry on the outside. Run out of Lager beer and took them over 20min to change a keg. Forgot our wine order. You can’t order a Medium Rare steak because the steaks are pre cooked. Not the best cut either, not worth the money. AND!! a tiny side of extra sauce for your steak is charge out at $7!!!!!! What the heck? They didn’t even let you know, they just add it to your bill and hope you won’t see it. Menus are all sticky, print is like a silver or gold what is really hard to read. Lots to learn and to change. Definitely not a high end restaurant what they would like to be.
