Red Opium is a Thai-inspired Tapas Restaurant. Our Chefs Love the use of robust Thai ingredients and marrying them to fresh Australian produce and influences from other parts of the world. We do provide Catering facilities on request for examples: Birthdays, End of Year Party, Work Functions, etc… Special Set Menu as per customer’s budget. The Restaurant is BYO with no corkage fee. Free parkings after 6:00pm – Hill Street and Goderich Street.

Just delicious❤️ We came here for a family dinner and everything was so well cooked and seasoned. The service was abit slow as they didn’t have much staff but the food and the sauce they used was amazing. We ordered 5 dishes and 3 rice and it averaged to $32/pp. The spicy lamb cutlets, duck curry and grilled pork skewers were the stand out dishes. The chargrilled squid and banana leaf parcel were still yummy too

We had the set tapas for $95 was plenty for 2, the Pok Pok chicken wings and the Massaman were great. Its a BYO, very spacious and relaxed atmosphere. Service was good.

This is a very quiet and unassuming restaurant. There were very few people there on a Saturday night and it is easy to miss if you’re looking from the street.. The service was friendly and professional. The food was superb. We had spicy scallops, crispy chicken wings for entree, beef stir fry and cashew chicken for main. All four dishes were exceptional. I recommend it very highly.

Hidden treasure! The venue is hidden behind an entrance you would only see if you were looking for it. It is a basement-style room, clothed with dark red fabric and beautiful decor; dark and intimate. The food is Thai-inspired tapas. Every plate came out very quick, was surprisingly cheap, and most importantly was delicious! The staff were friendly and always standing nearby ready to attend to customers. We ordered almost everything on their ‘small plates’ menu. Absolutely amazing! If I could give 6 stars, I would. Highly recommend. FYI its BYO – so bring a nice bottle with you. They don’t charge a corkage fee either.
