We wandered in here off a recommendation on the street. The place was full, but they got us set up out in the hallway, which was actually really nice. The lady that looked after us was absolutely fantastic, funny and really helpful. The food was very well priced for the quality and the size of the servings, I had the Gnocchi which I thoroughly enjoyed. All in all a great dining experience.

This place is great. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff are kind. I had their Turkish delight gelato and oh my it was absolutely delicious! I came back for a second scoop later, I just couldn’t help myself. Probably the best gelato in Newcastle by far.

Not the Northern Star Cafe that it once was. Very bland meals, garlic bread entree came out 10 minutes after the main. Garlic bread was a slice of bread cut into 2 pieces, it still had the unmelted butter/margarine on top. Everyone used to be given 2 slices of crusty bread with all meals free of charge. It was once our favourite, not any more. Pity.

Not the best dress/decoration restaurant but food are so delicious. When you feel a need of Italian pasta, this place is really recommend. Presentation of the dish may not be superb, but excellent in your mouth . There are also lots of choice of yummy desserts. A bit slow in service but she is very friendly…oh, try some gelato, too. Had garlic bread and veal Oscar. The bread was very stale and I politely told the waitress to ensure it wasn’t served to other customers. The Veal Oscar was very average. The cream base was separated by oil and the vegetables were very overcooked. When it came time to pay I kindly requested not to be charged for the garlic bread and I was refused. The waitress said it’s sourdough bread and it’s “just like that”. I eat sourdough bread often and the bread was simply very stale. Not smart business charging for stale bread and insulting a customer’s intelligence in such tough times. Will not be returning.
