A surprising find to the top of the museum offering roof top views of Sydney. Quiet and beautiful ambience. Had a chai latte and a light meal, both which was good. While the staff were welcoming, unfortunately they sat us in an area that felt quite warm, when asked if we can move closer to the middle of the room we were told hesitantly “no”. Had to assist the staff who seem new and struggled to put the blinds down as an alternative. Wasn’t busy, I didn’t make it an issue and left shortly after.

Very nice restaurant to be at the museum with an amazing rooftop view – very kids friendly and very caring staff. Looks like a upscale restaurant that doesn’t break a leg and doesn’t need 2 or 3 course meals per person – but casual dining options! The pasta and the fish and chips are superb! Lovely and very yummy menu that worths the price!

Terrible return visit. Went in February for a work farewell had a delicious chicken caesar salad ($18). Returned 3.5 weeks later for a birthday lunch. Same salad now $24 and a much smaller portion size. That is a third increase in cost! Website shows previous pricing so you only find out once you have arrived.

Went in for lunch after exploring the museum. It was the perfect addition to an already great day. The food was amazing, the service was excellent and the restaurant itself was just so nice. And the view was beautiful.

Really pleasant experience. My partner and I visited ‘No. 1 William’, a brand new restaurant that has just opened up with the reopening of the Australian Museum. This restaurant isn’t to be confused with the old listing of the ‘No. 1 William’ cafe, which seemed to be listed as more an office space cafe.

I took my family (with a toddler) and friends here and it was a brilliant find. Easy to book online, great location with views across the city. Great menu that caters for dietary requirements – I’m gluten free. And an affordable kids menu too. Highly recommended if you’re looking to get away from the city hustle and bustle.

We gave this place a try after finding them on instagram and our experience was not bad but also not great. The space is lovely and easy to find, view is great and we went on a sunny day. Only downside is we were sitting right in sunlight so even with aircon, it did get warm and we had our lunch with sunnies on. 7/10.
