Down in Chinatown New Tai Yuen has been there since 1975. Still serving great Chinese food. You can dine outside, inside or upstairs in the beautiful dining hall. Staff are attentive and the food tastes great. Grab a beer or wine and try some of their specials. The pork in honey and black pepper was delicious.

Some of these reviews are harsh and outrageous! I had a really pleasant experience.

Great food, not sure why the bad reviews. We have eaten at this restaurant multiple times and always great service and food. We got the Honey Chicken, Fried Rice, Beef Black Bean, Gyoza and Short Soup. Kids loved it also…..

Food was bland, noodles undercooked, no vegetables in dish other than onions and carrots and still expensive considering it was below average food. Unfortunately your chef is not up to any standard. Get him on the dishwasher at best.

Stopped here for a light lunch. We were looking for dumplings and this place had a good range on the menu. We had the Chiu chow dumplings, the prawn and vegetable dumplings, the chicken dim sum and the pork buns. All were very good, except for the chicken dim sum. These looked and tasted a bit like they had been pulled from the freezer. There are no prices on the menus either. I think this is because they are very expensive. The decor is a bit dated and the restaurant looked like it could have used a clean.

Went to the restaurant with 6 people and because of the expensive prices, we ordered a small fried rice which was $12.90 for the portion of one person. Normally, tea is a complimentary drink for customers. However we were not told that the cup of tea costs $3 per head until we paid. We had 4 people eat as 2 left. Altogether coming to a total of $32. There was also a piece of hair in the fried rice which we decided not to mention out of inconvenience. I do not recommend coming here as you will be scammed. Worst yum cha ever.

Luckily we don’t have -5 stars here. If you want to waste your money go to this place. Very hard to communicate in English, filthy tables and everywhere.. They don’t use fresh ingredients to make their food, mostly coming from cans. Very expansive, very expansive I mean very expansive and after you spend this money you’ll be hungry.
