I have mixed feelings about this place. Great service, lovely presentation, new experiences (for me with the durian fruit desert). But… the atmosphere was like a takeaway, prices relatively high, food lacked flavour. Maybe it was just overhearing the loud, racist group on the next table that put me off.

We tried the chicken and cheese spring rolls, recommend. I had a prawn basil based stir fry with coconut rice, my sister had a basil based rice with tofu. Hella cheap house vino. Next time I need to try this blue pea corona drink. Great customer service and you’re not rushed work drinks/entries/mains coming out We’ll be back as there’s things like pineapple tumeric fried rice to try and many more interesting delights. Prices are great too

Was disappointed after reading the rave reviews. $20 for the Red Prawn Curry ( Hot spicy) & rice, lacked flavour & was very thin & more like a cheap tomato soup & didn’t taste fresh at all. Was ready in 5 mins which was not a good sign on reflection. Staff were friendly & the restaurant was full so either Hobartians are easily pleased with mediocrity under par food. I really wanted to like this restaurant but sadly it’s now crossed off my list. The accompanying photo should explain.

We visited Hobart during the Christmas of 2022 and were in Tasmania for a week. During that week, we ate at various restaurants and cafes. Nara Thai was our favourite of all the places. Prices are decent and more importantly, the food delicious and flavourful. We walked out of the restaurant very satisfied. Food-wise, we ordered the spring rolls, which were crispy. We also ordered the boat noodles, which had an aromatic broth and plenty of ingredients. The star however, has to be the pad thai, which came with 6 medium prawns (there are various options, and we chose seafood). Portions for both noodles were large and more than enough for two. We also liked the fact that they were very generous with the vegetables, which made the meal much more balanced. The only criticism is that the spring rolls could be slightly bigger. Finally, a big thank you to Kenneth who was very patient and accommodating. A friendly face makes a lot of difference to a dining experience, and Kenneth certainly fits the bill.

Delicious authentic Thai food, we enjoy the Pad Thai very much. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is not big but nicely designed. We will return for another round of Thai food. One of the tasties Thai food in Hobart.
