Had lunch here today with hubby. Not just the best Japanese restaurant in Brisbane, probably the best restaurant I have been in Brisbane. We shared kaisendon, karaage, agedashi tofu, and tuna katsu. Very authentic Japanese. And they have nama biru and range of good nihonshu! It is like I was suddenly in Japan, my heart was so happy. Price is as usual, Japanese price so it won’t be cheap. Decor wise, I think they went on budget. But I’d rather that than them going cheap on the food. Overall a really good restaurant.

Warmly greeted, we are promptly shown to our table. Our lunch is served in under 20 minutes. The Sashimi Bento and Teriyaki Salmon are good while the Chirashi is exceptional with a very generous serving of mixed Sashimi. Highly recommended!

We visited on a Friday night; the place was hopping 🙂 Every table full, including the large table behind us with lots of happy Japanese customers (a good sign). We ate California rolls, veg. gyoza, grilled eggplant, tsukune (chicken meatballs) and veg. tempura. We drank soft drinks, tho there are various alcoholic drinks available, and they have BYO wine. Service was prompt and friendly, even tho they were very busy. I enjoyed the rolls – they were very large, fresh, tasty and a good price. Hubby enjoyed the eggplant tho I found it very (too) sweet and mushy – just not my thing. Tsukune were tasty too if a tiny bit dry. Loved the tempura – crispy outside, crunchy veg. Gyoza were nice and crispy. Both of us enjoyed our meal; and plenty of other dishes to try next time. Seating inside and out; overhead heating kept us warm in our wee corner. (Loved the ceramics too.)
