Established is 2003 and set within one of the beautiful and historic bluestone buildings of the Salamanca Arts precinct, in Salamanca Sq, Hobart, the restaurant offers a beautiful and friendly ambience for all occasions.

The kitchen helmed by mother and son offers a wide award-winning selection of traditional and modern Greek-Style dishes, prepared using the best quality Tasmanian ingredients, wherever possible and cooked over a bed of charcoal.

Wow!!! This place is incredible. We are Hobart locals but went wandering on Friday night for a new place to eat and came across this gem. Absolutely excellent, authentic, made with love food, beautiful Greek wines and beers on offer. Although all these things were incredible I think the best is the atmosphere and sheer joy from the owner and staff. We felt so welcomed and loved, we will be back!!!

This place is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is incredible and the food is to die for. Super authentic and made with love. The staff are extremely friendly and we couldn’t have asked from better service from Taso. You can tell he loves what he does and the passion from both him and his mum is second to none. The food brings me back to the times my grandmother used to cook for us and every meal brought back so many good memories. (and I’ve been to many different Greek restaurants and taverns and have never found anything that came close to her cooking except for here.) As far as I’m concerned this is the best restaurant in Tasmania to eat at both for the food as well as the atmosphere and service. I can’t recommend this enough and will certainly be a regular.

October 2022: Mezethes, the Greek institution of Hobart. Atmosphere is always buzzing, team are super friendly and the food is always amazing. This is as authentic as an Australian Greek Restaurant can get. If you want anything more genuine, you’ll need to head to Athens.
