We’re long time blow ins to mornington, but rarely strive off the main street, and usually head to a costal restaurant to enjoy the wonderful views. But today, we decided quite randomly to try somewhere new. And to our delight we were happily surprised. A lovely decor greets as you enter, along with a lovely waitress. We sat by the window, which didn’t have the same views, but it was winter and a cold wind was blowing so we were happy with our choice. My wife had Crispy Skin Pork Belly with Rocket Apple Salad and I had Fantasia Sauce (creamy mild curry) with fettuccine pasta. The food as you can see from the pictures was presented well and tasted just a nice. Curry and pasta are not two things you would normally find together on a menu so I thought, why not. And it worked. We will definitely be back, possibly when it is a little warmer so we can sit outside. All in all a great experience.

Came here with my husband and a friend and we loved eating here. Drinks were perfect, the food was delicious and fresh. Staff were helpful with all our questions and my dietary requests – they cater for vegans so well. Rose the owner was lovely to chat to. We’ll definitely be back.

Dined at Manhattan in Mornington with my girlfriends and spent over 4 hours there… Best lasagna I’ve ever had at a restaurant, and the service was amazing! Such genuine, kind and attentive people!!! Thank you Rose and staff for such a lovely restaurant experience. Can’t wait to come here again!

“The Manhattan” is ‘Little Italy’ in the heart of Mornington. The menu and dishes are well presented, fresh local ingredients and cooked to perfection. There is a fine selection of wines, coffee and desert. I want to highlight the high level of customer service and cleanliness of the restaurant. This is a place operated by seasoned professionals and suitable for couples up to large gatherings, including parties and special events. The management and staff are welcoming, friendly and treat you as a guest. There is an outside partly covered courtyard suitable for casual dining and live entertainment. Average plate costs $30 to $40 and worth every penny. Highly recommended for persons who prefer upscale dining. Met up with friends we’d not seen in decades. Of all the places we could have chosen we were all so glad to have met up, caught up and shared such delicious dishes together. We felt bad to have chatted till 4pm but the staff were so attentive and understand and we really appreciated effectively having the restaurant to ourselves to catch up again. Thanks again and cannot recommend this restaurant enough as a great place for food wine and atmosphere in Mornington.

Very accommodating especially for large groups. We a large group of 15 we stuffed up our booking plus it was on a Friday night!) however, the staff made room for us in the back court yard. We were very grateful, thank you so much! Plus they put the heaters on for us. We also started with wines and ordered either pasta or risotto & enough garlic bread to keep us full. Thank you once again- highly recommend!!!

The food was exceptionally good, from the garlic pizza to the ox cheek through to the Italian doughnuts.

Quite dissapointed with the food here. Went for valentines day, waited about 50 mins for food, which I wouldn’t mind too much about IF the food was good… but considering the outside area was empty you’d assume they could have handled this many customers at once. Not a big deal really. The aranchini balls for an entree were beautiful, 9/10 there. Shame there were only 3 of them they were so nice! But the mains were perhaps the most sub-par italian food myself and my half-italian partner have experienced (to put it lightly). Lacked taste and texture, and was honestly a struggle to get through. Spaghetti was comprable to the stuff you get in a tin, and the meatballs were tasteless. Presentation of the mains was also very average as seen in the image. Staff were friendly enough but wasn’t checked on to ask how our food was either.
