Good relaxing evening with our hosts recommendations going down a treat. The gin we tried as a pre dinner drink was excellent. Soup and steak was cooked to perfection.

Enjoyed our experience in the restaurant. Food was delectable and different. Highlighting local produce. The waiting staff were nice and friendly and happily answered any questions regarding the food and wine. The wines available is from the property ‘ Creed Wines’ and are certainly a nice drop. In summer this would be definitely be a high end gourmet experience.

So visited this resturant because it had a 4.3 rating and the pics seemed nice. Sadly, I did not have the same experience to those that gave 5 stars. I’m honestly struggling to understand based on WHAT were these 5 stars given? Maybe it’s the service coz that’s about all that was good. I ordered the Chefs Surprise which comprises of many different meals that chef chooses to make – it’s 5 course. Of those 5 courses 4 of them were vegetarian…… But I love meat :-(. The portion size was big but so much of food was wasted because the flavours just did NOT go. I literally had few bites and couldn’t do it anymore – it really wasn’t good. I don’t want to be mean but I don’t feel like these meals were prepared by a real Chef, and if they were he/she is probably really inexperienced. Btw…… This is NOT fine dining, it’s very very very far from it.

Not been to restaurant but guests said it was very good. Went to the chateau/ gift shop for a great Devonshire tea, fresh warm scones & whipped cream, local jams & good tea. The gift shop is very nice, clean & loaded with all sorts of cool stuff. Definitely worth visiting.

The service was atrocious! Not unfriendly staff but some customers over serviced whilst others ignored.
