On first impression we were dubious. However the food is excellent and made to order. We had vegetarian samosa, beef vindaloo, butter chicken and mixed vegetables. The food was excellent and inexpensive. They even gave us extra rice when they saw we ran low! BYO is a bonus. Arguably the best Indian west of the great dividing range.

Hands down best food in Longreach and the best Indian Cuisine I’ve ever had. The service is always exceptional. But the flavour is wow wow wow and consistently 5/5!! It’s not a trip to Longreach without dining in at Little Star. The GF naan is amazing. The pizzas are excellent. The samosas are out of this world! You simply can’t go wrong.

Recommended by a passing local, we four travellers found this restaurant run by a charming young couple of ex Punjabis to be a wonderful food experience. Fresh cooked dishes with beautifully prepared and flavoursome sauces were a standout along with very good accompaniments like naan. Vegetarian and gluten free available. We couldn’t recall better Indian food.

Low key restaurant, food was excellent, pick your level of heat. I picked the beef vindaloo medium heat and it was hot without being mouth scorching, sauce was very fragrant, better half had lamb korma again medium, lamb was melt in your mouth accompanied by rice and marlin naan. Prices very good most curries $22 and also had combination meals as well.

We eat a lot of Indian food. This was very very good and some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Took a little while to get our food but they were very busy with takeaway. I gather you can order when booking if you want and therefore no waiting time. But if you love Indian , this is definitely worth a visit.

I cook a lot of curries myself from scratch and usually find Indian Restaurants (even in major cities) to be expensive and disappointing but this place is a real exception in all regards. If you are in Longreach and enjoy a great curry – simply come here, you will not be disappointed!!!

Very disappointed with the food. Had a takeaway and the rice portion was tiny and so gluggy. It was more like sushi rice than basmati. Naan was tasty enough but, again, very small. The “medium” dish I ordered was mild and bland with minimal chicken in it, mainly just sauce. For $28 all up a very poor meal experience

We have been regular customers of little star for a few years now. Consistency is always there. If you want delicious Indian food, don’t give this place a miss. While we always opt for the Indian we have heard the “Aussie” meals are fantastic too. Naan and papadums always made to order, paneer and lamb vindaloo on point. If you can manage to not eat it all in one sitting (so good!) the portions are enough for leftovers the next day. They deliver as well- an option many in town do not offer. Diner in or takeaway, it can get busy (very popular!) but order ahead and you will not be disappointed. Five stars for little star!

This restaurant had some of the best Indian food that we have ever tasted. Thanks to the chef, the food was delicious! It’s a shame that the Indian food back in my home town isn’t as good as this one.

Busy Indian restaurant in Longreach. Had an enjoyable meal. Chicken Tikka was tasty and moist. Beef vindaloo suitably hot.
