The Laratinga Cafe is a friendly comfortable cafe, tucked away in the corner of the MtBarker Homemaker Centre next to Spotlight. There are several areas with tables, out the front, inside across from the counter, or a larger area over looking a landscaped park. The menu is varied with some good lunch choices available, all at affordable prices. We enjoyed our lunch and coffee in the back area, very relaxing. We found the service personal and friendly, with out any delay in ordering. The Cafe also offer a 10% discount to seniors, a loyalty card, free news paper to read, plus free Wifi is available. We shall return a good experience.

Gosh where do I start. The staff member on the checkout was doing busy work and didn’t serve anyone until another staff member prompted her. She also muttered loudly “oh great another group” as an old couple walked through the door. Our food took half an hour to come out and we had to ask twice (it wasn’t busy). It was cold and very average. I asked the same girl on the check out if there was salt and pepper, she rolled her eyes at me and told me to go and get some from another patron’s table. I told her never mind. Then she proceeded to tell the next people she was serving about me asking for salt and pepper and mocking me about it. All in all a very uncomfortable and awful experience.

Our visit today was greatly disappointing. We were charged $3 for hot water to warm the baby food which was also brought out in glasses not a mug which was a hazard to the worker carrying he glasses in their hands. We then waited over half an hour for coffee and was told they are too busy in the kitchen to make coffee… precious visits the cakes have been stale and coffee disappointing. If this cafe wasn’t the only cafe in the area it wouldn’t be here.

Ordered food and drinks. 20 minutes later received drinks only. Server asked did we order food. Replied yes and showed receipt. Food came out 15 minutes later, Luke warm.
