Since we opened our doors in 1986, we’ve held a vision for a dynamic restaurant in Wollongong’s most beautiful seaside location, serving fresh and often locally-sourced produce, and offering a quality of dining to rival any Sydney seafood restaurant. That vision still drives us today and resulted in The Lagoon being voted ‘Australia’s Favourite Restaurant’ in the Lifestyle Food Awards. We’re so proud of the quality we dish up, from simply-cooked seafood right off the boat, to mouth-watering slow-cooked meats and garden-fresh vegetarian dishes. Our desserts have been called ‘off the charts’!

What a wonderful experience our visit to Lagoon turned out to be. We booked for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the hot and cold seafood platter for 2. Yum, not a chip to be seen which is such a change it was all seafood and very well executed. The service was impeccable our waiter had a lovely manner and was totally engaged with his patrons.

The foods was great. Staff was very friendly and the service was really good. We ordered too much food for two people. We should have read the menu properly before adding extra that were not needed. If you are a oysters lover recommend to have a Oysters morney.

Such a great experience with family, enjoying a nice slap up seafood meal. Staff were amazing, Jesus the new manager made us & others feel most welcome. The new carpet & furniture created a beautiful new ambiance. We really m u s t mention the chefs & kitchen staff who worked together like well oiled quiet machines, doing what they do with no shouting or yelling and pumping out (wonderful) meals, as they did. Meeting the owner was a bonus, to be able to compliment all his staff direct. Well done everyone! Restaurants need to spend money and keep re-inventing to stay ahead of the game. Proud to state that The Lagoon has done this beautifullu, and is managing to stay on top. A fine restaurant in our Illawarra!

I Attended my Mum and Sisters bday here on Saturday lunch which was a truly memorable experience. The food and wine were amazing. Stunning fresh seafood platters which i loved immensely. Fernando our waiter was first class in every way. It was a great way to celebrate an 80th and 50th bday.

Our family had a 90th birthday celebration at lagoon restaurant. The setup was fantastic as they seated 25 of us in a quiet semi private area in the restaurant with lots of space for family to move around and talk. The staff were great and our waitress Lina was was amazing. She was so attentive and friendly to us all and went out of her way to make it one of the best restaurant experiences we have had. Food was great and I would highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much.

It’s hard to know where to start. Our family has been coming here for over 20 years and it never disappoints us. Celebrating my Mother Inlaws 80th & Sister Inlaws 50th was always going to be great but with the quality of service we received from Fernando just lifted our experience to the next level. He was amazing from start to finish & nothing was too difficult for him. Food as always was outstanding and second to none.
