A good and authentic Singaporean restaurant. The Char Kway Teow is very tasty. Don’t expect too much service, not too many staff. But as long the food is good, it’s all that matters.

I had the best chicken Laksa while in Hobart. We also ordered their chicken curry, Hainanese chicken, and nasi lemak with fried chicken (gosh, that was loads of chicken and they were all gone too soon from our plates). The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. The Nyonya was fantastic and friendly. We loved her! I definitely would recommend it to anyone in Hobart craving for some Malay food.

please be aware not to visit Kopitiam Singapore something cafe. I experienced unfair treatment from the owner, Caroline Lim, who seemed to enjoy bullying me. She deliberately insisted that I sit at a noisy front counter seat, even though I was originally sitting in a quiet area at the back. As soon as I finished eating, she immediately instructed her waiter to take away my plate. I had an upset stomach right after that.

Nasi lemak was very good. But service a bit too cold . There is no friendly atmosphere Asian style.

Excellent food at reasonable price. The chicken rice is missing the broth for some reason but the chilli and rice flavour make up for it. Chat kway teow is the perfect amount of spicy and full of meat/seafood rather than just noodles. Excellent find.

Ordered hainanese chicken and char kway teow and it was quite good with perfect seasoning. However, the portion for char kway teow was too small (definitely less than what we saw in some review photos). Didn’t have this issue with hainanese chicken. Tried to order bbq pork egg noodle but was told it was not ready – I suggest you come a bit later if you want to try this (we went few minutes after opening). We also ordered Singaporean milk tea and coffee but this was forgotten so had to ask for it and came after we finished food. Overall, food tastes great but portion can be small. Still worth a try
