Just had Ayam Penyet with coconut rice n Mee Ayam Special for lunch with my daughter. They were delicious. The Ayam penyet was flavourful, pipping hot, crispy n moist inside. The coconut rice is fluffy and fragrant with the right amount of coconut and was not clumpy as on the case with most cafe/restaurant.

I’ve eaten here a few times before. Their Indonesian and Malaysian food are excellent. Came here for lunch two days ago and they had a special deal where all Indonesian dishes were 20% off (woohoo!!!). Tried their fried fish for the first time and it was absolutely scrumptious.

Knox Gateway Cafe, unassuming place that looks like Amy other cafe, but turns out they dish out pretty descent Indonesian and Malaysian food that won’t break the bank.

Price is very reasonable. Char kway tiao was quite good, chee chong fun (with curry sauce) was good. Nasi lemak was good too and add $1 for termeric fried chicken. Thot the chicken was small but no, it was quite a big size. Not recommending the black fried carrot cake as it was kind of salty and too sweet (due to black sauce). There’s outdoor seating and can bring furry friends. The Malaysia coffee was OK.

Revisit Aug 2023. Has not been visiting this restaurant for quite sometimes and there is new surprise as they have indonesian food option. The taste is almost authentic. The portion size is big, enough for 2 eater. The ambiance is very good. However there is the downside as the service is lack in professionalism, either caused by new staff or lack of training staff.

This is a popular Malaysian cafe tucked away in an industrial area. As expected lunchtime was packed but the wait was short, service was friendly, and our food arrived promptly. The Char Gai Fan was tasty, the fried chicken was juicy and crispy, however the chilli sauce paired with it lacked oomph. The Char Koay Kak looked the goods but tasted average. Portion size was good. There are interesting kuihs, bain marie, and menu items perhaps for a future return visit. I’d rate as 3.5* overall
