I had a fried chicken burger and iced soy latte. Chips and Chicken in the burger was great… but did not enjoy the other fillings much… and iced latte was very weak and didn’t really taste much coffee.

HUGE appreciation post for the cafe that is so good you say it twice Ka-fey cafe. No order is too big or too small and the food is ALWAYS amazing and freshly cooked in house. Plus they read the comments in the Hey You order. What else, who else do you need!

Looks are deceiving, but it’s actually a vibe and the salad I had was so good staff are friendly, food can sometimes take a minute as it seems to be just the 1 cook, but honestly work the weight.

Food awesome! The bacon was out of this world . Comfy decor with reasonable prices. Only tripe would be the size of the thickshakes. They came in the standard metal cups but was less then half filled. For 10 dollars that’s bit of a joke

Great little vibey cafe spot in the heart of Newcastle. Excellent coffee and even more so with their generously portioned dishes (I recommend the French toast). The decor was rustic and kept my eyes busy. The staff were super friendly and faultless. Not cheap, not expensive, what you would expect and can’t complain.

The keto BLAT chaffle was amazing! I added hollendaise to mine which was delish. (Hollendaise just needed some salt and pepper). Even my non keto friend was jealous and wish she ordered the chaffle!

While wandering aimlessly around Newcastle city centre, we ended up in Ka-fey cafe, one of the few places that were still open and serving in the late afternoon. The funky, off-the-wall vibes and comfy setting with a hint of antique shop must makes it a great place where time seems to move slower and life feels not all that bad. The staff and the regular patrons expressed a laidback, genial attitude that didn’t naturally emulate from us tourists but we made ourselves home with the everyman food. They have an extensive menu of unique drinks, healthy options and cafe staples that are sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. We ordered the BLAT chaffle sandwich, chicken schnitzel wrap and a chicken, avocado, cheese and aioli sandwich. My ears perked up upon seeing their signature chaffles and I was happily digging into their mad scientist concoction of a sacred BLAT and cheesy waffles. The glistening, golden chaffle was in immaculate, waffle-like form with an undeniable cheesy flavour. The chaffle’s mild taste integrated seamlessly with the excellence of the BLAT, smoky layers of bacon, crisp lettuce, creamy avocado and a dollop of tangy aioli. That’s another foodie moment added to the list. The chicken schnitzel wrap was executed perfectly with fresh ingredients and a toasted exterior, making it a very satisfying meal. Although the sourdough sandwich wasn’t spectacular by any means, the procured blend of thick chicken with rich-tasting counterparts was nutritious. It might not be the most aesthetic or ground-breaking cafe out there but it does simplicity well which is all most people ask for. Honestly, the down-to-earth character and good food of Ka-fey cafe is something to be cherished by locals and visitors alike.

Fantastic coffee, friendly service and delicious food catering to everyone. My diabetic partner was very impressed with the keto options. Came for breakfast both days of our stay. Veggo brekkie was delicious and very filling, chaffle bruschetta tasty and satisfying. Great range of teas as well. We’ll be back next time we’re in Newcastle.

Had a chocolate thick shake, overall was good however the amount I received for my $8.5 was less than satisfactory. Would recommend an increase in takeaway cup sizes.
