I definitely wont be ordering from this restaurant again. I decided to order from this restaurant because they had a buy one get one promo on vegetable tempura. I’m not sure if the quantity I was given was the normal quantity for this item or if they changed the portion for this “promo”, but I was incredibly disappointed- for almost $15 I got two packages of vegetable tempura, each containing four pieces of vegetables. If this is the normal serving size, that’s almost $4 per vegetable! Additionally, I ordered the vegetable curry don, and the only vegetables in it were two small slices of potatoes! I split the food between me and two friends, and gave each of them one slice of potato, not getting any vegetables in my portion of the “vegetable” curry don. I don’t think it’s too much to expect at least one whole potato in my curry, especially for the price. Clearly this restaurant is trying to cut whatever cost it can. The quality of the food was acceptable but it was far from gourmet, so these portion sizes for the price are completely unacceptable. The photos of the food on uber were very misleading and are not a reflection of the food I recieved. Don’t be tricked by flashy promos, order from reputable restaurants and check the reviews.

Small little cafe with Japanese food in front of Spencer centre and southern cross station. The food is ok, but serving size is huge and it is reasonably priced. Food is ok.

Same location, new restaurant: Haha tea. Great food for the money, $9.9 you get this beef don with generous portion. I am satisfied after a busy day.

Paid 37 Dollars for 2 Chicken karage rice. They asked extra for large (think 2 dollars each ). The worst potion ever. 4 chicken pieces with most of it being the batter.. there’s no chicken in most of the pieces. Good presentation to deceive any customer..

Paid $13.50 for Poke Salad. It was just enough to feed a 5 year old. Also bought teriyaki beef don, beef was tough as hell.

Ordered from uber eats, deliverer dropped the order before it arrived but didn’t cancel the order. Have tried to ring this restaurant using both the number provided and another one I found and have gotten no responce from either.

Worst Teriyaki Chicken I’ve ever tried. $17 with only 4 pieces of chicken???!!!!! And the taste is just horrible. Very disappointed about the food here.

Food is value for its money and the service is fantastic. I got a chili beef bowl which got too spicy for my tolerance, but the lady boss was very kind to offer me a small complimentary dish of sukiuaki beef to try to keep the spice down which she don’t have to. Great service, will highly recommend and patronize again.

It’s changed it’s name. Nice people, but the food is not so great. It’s not Japanese, but a Chinese version of Japanese. Chicken katsu curry came with stir fried veg and gravy rather than curry sauce. Fried chicken was quite soggy. Threw most of it away 🙁

The food at Itoya Cafe is quite nice and their prices are very reasonable too! I often order dinner from Itoya as it is very close to where I live but is also just across the road from Spencer street DFO if you want a cheap but nice meal after shopping and is directly opposite Southern Cross station too, and DFO carparking! There is dine in and take away buy it is very small so I suggest getting take away because it is a little too small in my opinion to dine in comfortably! The only bad thing is they dont deliver but apart from that they are good! If you try for the first time I recommend the Katsu Chicken with rice, but you also have a noodle instead of rice option aswell!
