Great cafe for breakfast, right near the beach. Food was delicious! We ordered eggs on sourdough with some sides. The hash browns were really delicious. Relaxed atmosphere and fast service. Would recommend

Stay away from the cookies!! I ordered two different flavours and could not take more than a bite it tasted mouldy and old i had 4 other people try a small bit and they all had the same response. When I raised this to the manager, she tried a small bite and said it tasted “normal” and this is what we ordered. They offered me a refund for the cookies but I felt gaslighted and disregarded by the manager. To be honest i was not after the refund, just wanted acknowledgment of being served food that is unfit for consumption. The cookies are definitely off and I worry about future customers.

We had a wonderful night. Great music, atmosphere, long Island ice teas and the food was exceptional. Best meal we’ve had out in months. I had seafood linguine, it was full of delicious fresh seafood and the pasta was silky and all piping hot. Hubby had seafood parmi and it was excellent too. Couldn’t fault it ❤️

Visited multiple times over a few days and it became my local hangout. Beautiful location by the beach and lovely setup with nice outdoor and indoor seating options. Great place to chill and read a book and gaze at the ocean. The music playing one morning was also nice and chill and put me in a good mood. Coffee is pretty good, although ever so slightly on the bitter side. Tried two different breakfasts on different days: the eggs Benedict was lovely! And the hash on the beach was also pretty good. Another time had the calamari with chips and tartar sauce. All the portions were generous and everything was fresh and arrived pretty quickly. Overall, a great place to visit. I would definitely come back anytime.

We recently had my son and daughter in law wedding reception at the restaurant (June 2023). The food (platters) where loaded with a huge variety of yummy temptations and lots of it. The staff were everywhere making sure guests had food and also cleaning away dirty glasses and plates. The restaurant was decorated by Jilly and staff and looked amazing. Lots of Victorian guests who were raving about the setting, food and service.

They serve good coffee, as long as you are not in a hurry. I went there on two occasions – one busy and one not. Both times the baristas took ages to make a simple coffee. It was hard to watch. But in the end, it was a good coffee. They have a monopoly for food and drinks at Horseshoe Bay Beach.

They will only mix a cocktail for you if they can be bothered, despite a sign clearly advertising “cocktails and cake”. Needless to say the day I went they couldn’t be bothered. Clearly they don’t need the business and there plenty other businesses in Bowen that do. You’ll find me there.
