Best meal I’ve had so far in Alice Springs. Went here late Monday night, this was one of the highest rated restaurants on google maps and had some of the best photos of good looking food. The menu features both Chinese and Indian dishes and has many choices to cater to a wide variety of tastes. I got the Lamb korma, it was full of flavor and cooked pretty well (a little on the dry side, but it came out incredibly quickly and was nice and hot) my friend got the Butter Chicken, it too was pretty damn good (a little bit sweeter than what I’m used to) The coconut rice was great. The drink menu was extensive and had a lot of wines to choose from.

What can I say, this is a gem of a place. Their menu is fantastic and I just wish I found this place last time I was up here on business. I came for the curry and next night had the noodles. Flavour was really good and I highly recommend this place over the mediocre tali in the next hotel. I’ll be reserving a table every night I come back to Alice Springs

Great Thai/Malay style restaurant located in the Double Tree Hotel. Staff were friendly and service was very efficient despite it being very busy. Food was tasty and serving sizes were decent.

If I could give no star, I wouldn’t give any stars. This so called fine dining has no respect to customers whatsoever. I made a reservation at 7.30pm, went in and got told have to wait 30min before we get a table. I asked then what is the difference if I just walked in, he said if you just walked in, we have a table available, you would have a table. Then, what is the point making reservations??? The whole point of have it a reservation is not to wait, right? If making a reservation has no difference to walk in, why people choose to make a reservation?? We sat down, didn’t even have a waitress to give us menu, we had to get the menu ourselves. Then we raised our hand to get the waitress and got orders done, we waited another 28 minutes to get the food ready on our table. We made a reservation at 7.30pm, and the food is not ready until 8.37pm!! Excuse me?? And the man at the reception was so rude! He said, it’s your perception that making a reservation would have a table straight away, I was like… excuse me??? The food was good enough, but the portion is small given the price, and the service is soooo terrible. So called fine dining is just a scam. A good restaurant with such a charge should consider every single perspective, especially the service!!! We didn’t get taken care the second we walked in. The man at the reception only gave us good face when we pay the bills. Not recommend at all.

It was a busy night but the place was pretty chaotic and some mistakes were made with our orders. Food was rich but tasty and drinks menu was pretty extensive. Maybe they are a better at service on much quieter nights or perhaps it was just too many new staff but did create some awkwardness. Interesting they have so many cuisines across Asia including Indian dishes but they seem to manage OK with the different styles.

We went there for lunch. Food was not bad but you’ll probably get similar or better at a good food court except for the oysters, that is very nice . When there is high expectations as a ‘fine dining’ restaurant at Hilton, you’ll expect much more. Service was not very attentive either. We had to ask for water refill 3 times. The plates must not have chips on them!!

Authentic Thai and India food @ Alice Springs. Book ahead if you want to dine here. Food was in large portion so order wisely. One of the service staffs was horrible as we requested to be seated at a corner so not to disturb other patrons but was completely ignored. Wouldn’t go back due to poor service.
