Yes it was delicious. Spaghetti Marinara is Unbelievably good. It a little hidden romantic dinner place. Small but cosy. The service can be slow because theres just husband and wife I guess but it’s been open for more than 10+ years and have amazing recipe and history. Would be worth a try. The spinach pizza (i think) we had is just so good we couldn’t stop eating.

Every single meal at the table was cooked to perfection. Full flavoured, generous servings with quality ingredients. I had the Marinara which was filled with prawns, calamari, fish and mussels that where tender and high quality. Starters and desserts where all amazing too. Service was friendly and the lady had really good recommendations.

The food was so authentic, hearty and flavorsome! The service was also fantastic, everyone was so welcoming, and the restaurant had a really authentic, traditional feel to it. We booked for a 10 person party and chose the set Menu #1 so we could try a bit of everything and it which was such great value for money (only $30 pp and no corkage fee). They brought out a wide selection of pizzas, pastas and fresh salads and said “let us know if you more”… We barely even got through half of it and had to ask for takeaway containers.

We couldn’t wait to dine here after reading the reviews and the fact we struggled to get a table on a Fri or Sat night for a number of weeks made us excited about dining in this Fortitude Valley institution. We were however very disappointed with our overall dining experience – the service was almost non existent, the pizza was so overloaded with ingredients that the base was soggy, the matricana had no flavour what so ever, especially a lack of chilli, the pasta eggplant was pleasant and the fettuccine Alfredo was tasty. Our garlic bread had no garlic taste at all and in terms of the ambience the floor was really greasy so that our chairs constantly slid on the tiled floor.

I had been meaning to go to Giardinetto for years and when I had some friends up from Melbourne in April, we took the opportunity. I can tell you, hands down, this is the best value restaurant in the Valley area. The food comes in great portions for a great price and is delivered with warm and friendly (and humorous) service. The main room is smallish and cosy but that adds great atmosphere for the occasion. Highly recommend and my new favourite restaurant in the area.
