The best pancakes, gelato and coffee my partner and I have had in a really long time! YOU MUST GO!! Had lunch here for the last time today and I am sad. I have been in Gladstone for 2 months and have eaten there many times as well as our Gelato fix on a regular basis. The Gnocchi Alba is one of my favourite foods. I have never been a fan of pasta until I tried this. Amazing flavour, something I will never forget but the real highlight for this eatery is the backpacking staff. These girls work harder than most and always with a smile on their face even though at times I am sure they aren’t smiling on the inside. Although all of them were great Anna is the reason we continued to eat here. She is an asset to any business. Hardworking and always smiling. Nothing was a bother to her and she was always welcoming. To me the customer service is as important as the food. The owner has a real treasure in her.

Cafe Familia has been opened for year and is managed by an Romanian with a great friendly helpful charisma. Service is efficient, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere located near the marina. The Gnocchi Alba ($22) gnocchi is a bacon mushroom sauce with tasty cheese,not too salty, great mixture of flavor and just about to make you full but not overwhelmed by the flavours. The Fettuccini Boscaiola was also appealing. I didn’t have a chance to eat it because it was too delicious to share

We went in to order take away coffee. There were 4 people behind the counter not doing much but nobody looked at us. After 5 minutes we were told breakfast was finished and lunch started in 15 minutes. Said we just wanted a take away coffee and with a sour look on her face the woman took our order and said to wait outside. We sat and waited for 15 minutes and then another unsmiling woman gave us the coffees and walked away. The coffees had no froth in the milk and were way too hot. I don’t recommend the coffee and for a family restaurant there was not 1 smile.

Restaurantfamilia Been here many times and great service. Just a stone throw away from the fountains at the east shore. Grab something to go or just take a seat and place tire order. When you are finished go for a walk along the board walk. Very nice days to relax in summer time down here cheers big ears

We first visited Familia in February when looking for property in Gladstone and really enjoyed our meals. Since moving to Gladstone a few weeks ago we continue to return as it’s very hard to beat. Had the gnocci today and it was perfect, would have just liked a slightly bigger serve, the same with the garlic bread as only two small pieces…..needed more to mop up the delicious sauce!!! Great flavours and excellent service, so friendly and welcoming. We’ll be back again…and again……

We had the steak…….amazing! Relatively cheap. Asked for medium and that’s exactly what we got. Asked for pepper sauce and it was delicious, not the gravy with peppercorns usually served in pubs. Delicious chips and vinegary salad. Pot of tea had real loose-leaf tea, not teabags as seems to be the norm in Qld. Nice strong coffee and delicious Tiramisu icecream for dessert. Have had five steaks since coming to Qld from Victoria and all the others were terrible.
