We visited on a Friday night and there were a few diners but not too busy. We enjoyed a range of curries, dosa and naan. Favourite was probably the dosa and Daal. Dishes were good but lacking some boldness in terms of flavour and spice, just all a bit mild tasting. Prices and serving sizes were reasonable.

We have been to this restaurant several times previously. We went last night being a Saturday night and we booked for a table of four . Yes it was busy but from a restaurants point of view that is good….. right ? Anyway we sat down ordered the $40 banquet . As I placed the order I also asked the waitress for 4 wine glasses as there were none on our table . She said we have run out of wine glasses so we had to drink our wine out of champagne glasses. No big problem but then again if I owned the restaurant it would not be a big problem to simply buy some more wine glasses either .! Anyway it took 40 minutes for the first entree to arrive . I had no entree plate , nor was one offered , no napkins, and also none were offered ( normally they would be on the table ). The chicken Tikka was cold , the curry puffs were dry and overcooked . The Masala dosais arrived two at a time so my daughter and her partner had finished theirs before my wife and I even had received ours . When the mains “ finally “ arrived the sauce was slopped down the side of each little bowl and presented to us with no rice . I had to try and get the waitresses attention while she was idly chatting to another waitress at the bar area to ask for some rice . The whole service was disjointed , the waitress service was poor , the meals were average at best . There was no offer of a wine cooler or ice …….just terrible . Basic service was lacking and definitely not the restaurant it used to be . Do yourselves a favour and drive the extra 7 kilometres to Crows Nest and go to the Malabar . I know I will be from now on .!!!!! Extremely disappointed.

Where do I begin? I’ve frequented this restaurant on numerous occasions over the years and its always been decent. This particular visit was so disappointing. The waitress was terrible – just looked at us with no acknowledgement when we arrived. We couldn’t understand anything she said, mainly because she just muttered everything. The table water had a layer of oil, as did all the plates, which my husband had to wipe down with the ‘serviettes’ they provided, which were the type of folded paper towels you would find in a public toilet. The ‘serviettes’ after the wipe down were brown – disgusting. Some of the food tasted off, naans were burnt black, dosai was overcooked and one of the curries came out with 4 small pieces of lamb. My husband said the toilets were absolutely putrid (and hes pretty forgiving). Plus the restaurant was near empty but she decided to sit us right next to this couple with two screaming/crying children. On top of that, the server said she couldnt provide change in notes and proceeded to count out silver coins, which of course I declined – tip fishing I’m sure. Now I have a terrible stomach ache. Most unpleasant meal I’ve had in years. Never again until new management takes over – visit at your own risk.

We went yesterday night. We book a table throughout the fork app. The place was dirty, windows floor, they only had 3 tables but even like that they were not able to pick up the plates from the tables that left already. The plates were all in a pile on the corner at the entrance of the restaurant…the floor was dirty too and the waitress just chating on the counter instead of cleaning. The food was really bad , the momo didnt even look like momo and it was cold as well as the sauce, the lamb curry , although it had tons of spices it didnt taste to anything and the samosas such a disappointment Ill never go back to that place…

The woman on the desk was so rude to my husband who asked about chickpeas and was bluntly told he wasn’t saying chickpeas correctly. As far as I know it’s chole in hindi and chickpeas in English so why he needed English correction I don’t know. I would have tolerated such rudeness had the food been good but the chole we did get was super sweet inedible and ended up in the bin . So much for mothers day dinner. We ended up eating toast which tasted better than the food from here. And before you jump to any conclusions about what would I know about food from bharata , I have an Indian ethnic background and never had I had sweet inedible chole like this.

Pathetic food. All burnt. Not sure how you can deliver such food. See the paneer tikka in photos.

We dined using a 30% offer from thefork and we had an enjoyable experience. The keema dosa was very fresh and for mains we had butter chicken, beef vindaloo and the goat curry. All were good but I wouldn’t say great. The naans were terrific. Service was good.

The food at this restaurant is excellent. The service is slow and disinterested. I would highly recommend this place for pickup or delivery, but skip eating in.
