It took more than an hour for our main meal to arrive. My son was literally falling asleep at the table. The white rice was very bland – no aroma, and the garlic cheese naan was a bit doughy. The mango lassi was too thick. However, the tandoori chicken, butter chicken, and Goan prawn curry tasted great. The food presentation was average. The mango kulfi, papadams, and mint chutney were delicious.

We enjoyed one of the best Indian meals we have ever had here. Absolutely delicious, nicely presented and reasonably priced. The young waitress was charming and helpful, and the lady who runs the restaurant was just as friendly, taking the time to tell us about the region she is from in India, and how her menu represents this region. We will definitely come again next time we visit Hobart. I could not fault my experience at Chillies.

We had the most magnificent dinner, excellent service, overall it seemed a very low price for 3 of us (under $100!) and we were all so full, amazing goat, biriani (spelling?), Veggie dishes, and we tried 4 different breads. Magnificent dinner, excellent service from the young attentive but not pushy waitress. Chefs must be cherished – very home style cooking. Lovely decor. Will definitely go back there everytime we are in Hobart.

This is literally the best Indian food we’ve ever had. The food was so flavourful and delicious (especially the vindaloo), the service was lovely, the menu was reasonably priced with plenty of options and the restaurant itself was nice and clean. We sent our compliments to the chef twice. You can tell this place takes real pride in the food they serve. Highly recommend.

I’m a regular at this restaurant and the food is of a consistently high standard. They use quality ingredients and make many of their products fresh in house (when others use frozen alternatives). There are many Indian restaurants in Hobart but Chillies is one of the better ones.
