As soon as Amy Chanta, Natui, flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok.
Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.
Smart food-court venue with exposed brick, offering traditional curries, noodles and stir-fries.

Ordered, sat down and the food was ready within a few minutes. Good for those on a work break or want quick, tasty meals without waiting forever.

One of the best Thai restaurants in city. They have a few restaurants around Sydney. This one is in the food court with plenty of seating available. Gets busy lunch time though. Has extra chilli, oils and sauces on the side which is a plus and their food is amazing. You can buy precooked meals (lunch specials) or order and it’s made on the spot. Love their Bhai basil chicken fried rice with egg on top. Highly recommended.

I paid $16 for the seasonal vegetables in oyster sauce. What I actually received was 85% plain rice, 10% vegetables and 5% oyster sauce. What little of the vegetables and the sauce I had were very average.

Chat Thai have a few venues around Sydney and this one is in a food court so there is plenty of seating. Thai dishes are the usual and it’s a great place to grab lunch if you work in the city. No plastic cutlery which is a bonus. Pricing is fair for the really good meal you get.

I can’t rave enough about the incredible dinning experience we had at Chat Thai. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Thai dishes with flavors that transported us to the streets of Thailand! Every bite was a culinary delight, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The attention to detail and the dedication of the staff made this dining experience truly memorable! Highly recommended!
