we have eaten in we got all our plates as side dish plates like a saucer size tiny we thought we were getting pranked had a laugh we got take out $72 we got more capsaicin than meat just not value for money no meat in container shame because food tastes ok better than some if u like capsaicin more than meat go for it.

$80 takeaway from the Cannon Park restaurant. Not the best. The Mongolian beef was the best tasting of the dishes. Not sure what the chicken was as it was supposed to be honey chicken but was cold very thin battered chicken. I guess they do all the chicken this way and add the sauce separately. The chicken appeared to have been precooked some time before purchase and did not taste freshly cooked. This went in the bin as nobody was impressed. The pork pieces were huge. The fried rice was ordered without peas and without meat. It was then just egg rice, some shallots would have perhaps elevated it. We chose on recommendations from Google and local Facebook group. Not really good Chinese and will try elsewhere next time. See photos.

What the h*ll is this??? It’s supposed to be Honey Chicken….it’s a schnitzel battered, sliced up with a disgusting ‘honey’ sauce in a seperate container. Bears NO resemblance to any honey sauce I have ever tasted or honey chicken for that matter. This was one very expensive mistake….

We had a banquet for 22 people. They also accommodated 2 people not having a banquet. It was fabulous. Plenty of food and everyone could purchase drinks from the bar. Staff lovely. Thank you for a great birthday night.

Tonight was by far the worst meal we’ve had from the Capitol. Every dish was oily, with a layer of oil clearly visible on the top of every single dish. We ordered soup, 3 mains and a rice dish. The soup was almost tasteless, the wontons so overcooked they were gluggy. Overall the food was oily, lacked flavour and for $97 for small containers turned out to be very expensive. The Capitol used to be our favourite Chinese restaurant in Townsville, but we will be going elsewhere now.

Bland outdated decor , bad lighting , poor service . The food is also bland and unexciting lacking sauces with any flavour . They did not ask if we liked our food , I asked if the Chinese lady at till was the manager she just replied , no, I’m training waiter . At 7.30 staff are mopping and closing up areas including bar . Preparation of food certainly did not look or taste like it was cooked by a qualified cook or having any experience in Chinese food . We ate only a third of our food leaving a bad taste in our mouths ,
