I recently take away from Cairo Cannington and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The Oriental rice was extremely dry, and finding mince was a challenge. Compared to previous orders, it wasn’t up to par. The chicken skewers had unusually large chunks, with only three pieces on one stick instead of the usual six. Furthermore, the garlic sauce that usually accompanies the skewers was missing from the bag. The Biryani rice suffered a similar fate – dry, lacking flavor, and resembling plain yellow rice. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I had lunch today (12/11/23) at the Cairo cafe restaurant today with a relative, we both ordered the Bamya (okra) dish, and it exceeded all expectations. The generous portion of perfectly cooked rice, tender lamb, and the rich, fragrant tomato, onion, and spiced sauce made for a truly satisfying meal. The value for the price was outstanding.

Convenient location. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Food is good. The menu offers a good range of choices, including all kinds of meat as well as vegetarian and vegan options. A really good thing is that they are open till very late.

This is a great place to come and get some middle eastern food! I’m not too familiar with this cuisine but I can definitely say that the food is tasty and very generously portioned. The menu is broad and there are many items that you may not be familiar with but safe to say – everything Ive tried has been good.
