Amazing food with a beautiful view and relaxing atmosphere. We were staying in the Mantra so came here for breakfast before an early morning trip. The breakfast was amazing. We had the pancakes and smashed avo. As you can see from the pictures, it looked amazing and the flavours on both our plates were absolutely perfect and complimented each other really well. We had the perfect view of the harbour which almost didn’t feel real. Amazing!

Food was excellent. However, the young lad doing table service at breakfast needs more training. Either he never noticed that guests were ready to order or had to be told by other guests that someone else needed to order. The fairy floss on the French toast was wonderful.

This cafe is in a prime location, the food it self was. Ok but nothing it has a lot of work and potential. I walked in I waited for 10 mins before waiter walk past, I asked if I could order? she said sorry. I’m Not taking ordered,I’ll send someone over. A lady came over I put my order in. My drink came out pretty fast. I was a little let down by the mixed berry smoothie. I could taste the yoghurt and ice cream more then I could taste any berries, there was ant on the green leaf went into my drink! When I told the water she was like, mmmm ok.

I decided to give Cafe Balaena a go for dinner whilst staying nearby at the Mantra & I’m so glad I did. Dean & his staff were very welcoming & attentive. The dining area had a lovely ambiance & atmosphere about it & was tastefully decorated. I ordered the Queenslander Barramundi with scollops & prawns which was absolutely delicious! By far the best dinner I’ve eaten out in ages!
