This place was incredible. I had a bacon and egg doorstop and every part was delicious, from the perfectly cooked egg to the relish they used on the bread. The iced coffee was also delicious, not too bitter and not too sweet.

Another lovely experience stopping in after being away for a good 6 months and again the service was perfect, food, drinks and coffee were absolutely perfect! We had a choc brownie, triple cheese toastie, chai latte and a smoothie which was perfect! Only recommendation would be to have printed menus at counter as we only saw the chalk board menu and once we sat down and looked at the online menu, we realised there was a slightly larger selection which we were pleased to see. Overall, highly recommend and can’t wait to return for more goodness! Great work 1871 team!

If you’re looking for a bacon and egg breakfast you won’t regret trying their doorstop. It was seriously the best I’ve ever had. Whoever put this combination together certainly knows a lot about blending flavours. We asked for no BBQ sauce as often it’s over done but when this wasn’t possible we just went with it and we were so glad we did it with mustard on the side it was nothing short of a tastebud sensation of the most excellent sort. Great coffee and lovely friendly service too…. We’ll done guys!

Great looking cafe on the main drag in beautiful Clare, with a classy timber exterior and interior. I was hoping for a great coffee, unfortunately it was bitter and too hot (apologies for being a coffee snob), I’m guessing because many customers complain about the coffee being cold by the time they get to drink it. The staff were very friendly and keen to take care of the clientele.

I travelled Australia for a year and this was genuinely one of the best spots I visited. Very cosy vibe and the coffee is excellent, you can tell the baristas genuinely care about their work and the coffee they give their customers.
