Have had a couple of experiences with Ben’s Vietnamese & Chinese restaurant. This place is a very well renowned restaurant for authentic Asian cuisine in south Brisbane. The restaurant is closely located to south bank and well placed to the mater hospital! The food here is really very good. Authentic with plenty of flavour and in decent portion sizes. Reasonably priced for the size and quality, definitely need a couple of dishes if there is more then two! The restaurant itself is a little dated however they have there market and it is what it is. Pick up for take away is genuinely a nightmare and just awful with the car park. All in all not a bad place to get a feed!

Came here for my dad’s birthday but after waiting a very long time after we ordered, we received only one of our dishes. No rice or anything to eat it with. I had to get out of my seat and walk around to find someone to bring some rice so we could at least begin with the one dish. Worst service ever received at a restaurant anywhere ever.

Ben’s is a cheerful place that serves a good range of fresh Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine for a variety of occasions. It’s a great place to pop in to for a quick lunch (soups and noodle bowls), a chatty casual lunch with company (the roll-your-own rice paper rolls or a main and rice to share), a date (some of the fancier dishes) or a large group (they have a selection of banquet options). They also do a brisk trade in takeways and serve alcohol.

Yet again I’ve been charged for prawn chips that were missing from my order. No way to contact you. You’re not answering your phone. Let it go last time as it felt petty but seriously? How hard can it be to get an order right? Dish was supposed to be sizzling garlic with no broccoli. There’s no sizzling garlic and lots of broccoli. Prawns are tender but dish is bland. Very disappointing.
