Beer was cold, staff were nice, but possibly the worst piece of fish I’ve ever been served. Since the chicken parm had the same crust, I’m guessing the fryer oil hasn’t been changed recently. Also received a grand total of 12 chips hidden under my fish plank. Soggy as the day is hot.

Disgustingly rude and judgmental wait staff working in the bar/outdoor area. Were not accomodating at all and nothing but rude to an entire family. Declined to put a cake in the fridge when asked nicely, all meals were either missing things or of poor quality. Continually forgot drinks and spoke rudely to guests when asked about this. Don’t come to the Allenstown unless you want to be spoken to rudely and judged while trying to have a nice lunch out.

Was quiet when I went but.. food was great. I had the salt n pepper calamari mains as entree, which was cooked perfectly and zero rubber bands. Salad was delicious. I also had the Chicken bacon and mushroom filo pastry pillow from specials board, it was amazing with salad and chips with gravy. Gravy was spot on and everything cooked to perfection. Now I’m not much of a chips guy but I even ate them all cause they had the exact right amount of crunch to squish ratio, so I ate them all. Almost locked my plate clean.. all staff, and even other patrons were friendly and courteous. The beer was cold and wet and Schooner of XXXX GOLD only $6. Located just across from Woolworths and Beside Dan Murphys. So grocery shopping and take home beverage loctated very conveniently for after brunch.
